The Kenyan Community & Conservation Program

The Kenyan Community & Conservation program is based in the Kasigau Conservation Trustlands in South- Eastern Kenya. The Trustlands comprise of 380 000 acres of unspoilt community owned land upon which are five local villages.

The program offers volunteers a unique opportunity to participate in community upliftment, cultural exchange and wildlife research all in one program. For 10 days at a time, volunteers live and work with the members of the 5 villages imparting knowledge and skills while at the same time experiencing the local culture and traditions of these fascinating people. The local villagers are taught about skills development, conservation and sustainable development. The program believes that these people are an important part of the Tustlands heritage and that modern knowledge needs to be combined with traditional knowledge to ensure their ultimate survival in this environment.

The Kenyan Orphan Outreach Program

The Kenyan Orphan Outreach program is based in the rural area of Kimilili in West Kenya. The program runs a number of initiatives aimed at fighting poverty and HIV/AIDS in the surrounding communities. Please note that this program works with orphans and vulnerable children out in the field and not in an orphanage setting.

The amount of orphans in this rural part of Kenya is growing daily and the program staff needs your help to help them! The program fights to meet the orphans' basic needs such as food, water, shelter and access to medication. The program also runs a number of skills training workshops for local orphans to equip them with skills necessary to find employment once they have left school.

The staff at this program are extremely dedicated to their work and each volunteer that arrives to assist them is greeted with open arms and sincere gratitude.
