The Joy Human Development Program
The Joy Human Development initiative is a community-based organization operating in Lusaka, Zambia. The organization is involved in various projects that aim to improve and uplift the surrounding communities. They run projects that deal with issues such as health, education, environment, sport and life skills. They run activities that raise awareness regarding HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria. They also run a school for disadvantaged children who cannot afford the fees to attend government schools in the area.
Zambian Children's Orphanage Program
The Zambian Children's program is based in Kafue, Zambia. This program gives volunteers the opportunity to live and work with orphaned and vulnerable children who live in a local AIDS orphanage. This program is ideal for those who are looking to work primarily with children.
Both the staff and children on the program are always grateful for the small moments of hope and happiness that each volunteer brings with them. The difference that volunteers make to these children's lives is difficult to comprehend and it is only by participating in the program that volunteers learn the true meaning of caring and friendship
